Tayyib ("we", "us", "the app") is a halal short-video community operated by Salman Fakhry. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using Tayyib you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account info — your email, username, display name, profile photo, optional bio/link, and (optionally) gender, used only to apply our same-gender messaging rule.
- Content you create — videos, photos, sounds, captions, hashtags, comments, and stories you post.
- Activity — likes, follows, views and watch time, used to rank your feed.
- Approximate location — only if you grant permission, and only to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. We do not track or store your precise location history.
- Notifications token — to send prayer-time and activity notifications, if you enable them.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your feed, profile, messages, and prayer features.
- To keep the community clean: screening uploads for explicit or prohibited content, and acting on reports.
- To keep your account secure and enforce our community guidelines.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers we share data with
- Supabase — secure hosting, database, and storage for your account and content.
- Sightengine — automated screening of uploaded images/cover frames for explicit content. Images may be sent for analysis; they are not used for advertising.
- Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you opt into.
Content moderation
To keep Tayyib safe, uploaded media is automatically screened and may be reviewed by human moderators before becoming public. Content that breaks our guidelines can be removed, and repeat violations can pause or remove an account.
Your choices & rights
- Delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile and associated content.
- Edit your profile, change privacy (public/private), and control who can see each post.
- Turn location and notifications on or off in your device settings.
- Request a copy of your data or ask a question by emailing us (below).
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to comply with the law or resolve disputes.
Children
Tayyib is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, in the app.
